They do not have any organized sessions for artistic skating but do
have a club and some competitors. There is a woman there who teaches,
figures and freestyle but no dance. Instead, they have a coach who
comes all the way from Tampa once a week to teach dance.
I skated there during part of a session and almost got run over by
the munchkins, and also for a couple hours during a practice time.

Dreamland keeps the rink in good condition, and the skating floor is
among the largest in Florida and usually well maintained. It is blue
plastic over masonite sheets, but is resurfaced annually.
The snack bar and other sitting areas are usually very clean with
plenty of seats for the non-skaters. The rink is very popular for
kids parties - about nine party rooms with the visiting roller
skating dinosaurs.
The crowds are usually well mannered. Some of the Saturday morning
party sessions can get pretty crowded with many young, inexperienced
skaters, but should not cause any concern for any decent skater.
The late night sessions usually have less kids, no organ music - just
top-40, dance music and country sometimes. There is a deputy on duty
for the busy Friday and Saturday evening session. They have regular
and speed skating lessons available.
Not many bad points for Dreamland. Now if more of the parents who bring
the kids to the rink would skate with their kids - that would be nice!
