Atkins Lightly Spiced Baked Turnip Fries
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Peel 4 turnips
and cut them into 2 inch by 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch strips.
Place them on an aluminum foil lined baking sheet.
Drizzle with oil and season with the salt and chili powder.
Toss with your hands to throughly cover the turnip strips
with the oil and seasonings. Spread them out in a single
layer. Roast the fries in the oven at 425 degrees for about
30 minutes, turning halfway through the cooking time so
they will brown evenly. Best served immediately.
Parmesan Baked Turnip Fries
Use 3 pounds of turnips and season them with 1 tablespoon
of vegetable oil, 1/3 cup of grated parmesan cheese,
1 teaspoon of garlic salt, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and
1 teaspoon of onion powder befor3e cooking them as
directed in the prevous recipe.
