Bacon Wrapped Dates

An online recipe with instructions for making Bacon Wrapped Dates.

Ingredients

- 20 dates
- 10 slices of bacon
- cheese - suggestions:
---- 4 ounces of blue cheese
---- 4 ounces of feta cheese
---- 4 ounces of goat cheese
---- 4 ounces of cheddar cheese

h2>Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Precook the bacon until it is half cooked but still soft enough to wrap around the dates. (baked in the oven this would be about 10 minutes at 400 degrees)

- cut a pocket lengthwise in each date
- remove the seeds from the dates
- stuff each date with a small piece of cheese
- gently squeeze each date to partially close
- cut pre-cooked bacon slices in half
- wrap a half piece of bacon around each date
- secure with a toothpick

Arrange stuffed and wrapped dates one inch apart on a baking sheet. bake at 450 degrees 5-7 minutes on one side, then turn and bake 5-7 minutes on the other side or until the bacon is crisp. IMPORTANT: keep checking dates after 5 minutes on each side to make sure they do not burn or over-cook.

Drain off the bacon fat and serve immediately.
